I Love You Today

This is the reminder I want to hear from God some days. Well, maybe every day, but some days especially.

  I love you today, when you’re not full of smiles, and don’t feel like your usual self. 

  I love you today, even when you’ve fallen short of your own standards and expectations. 

  I still love you today like I loved you yesterday, and will love you tomorrow. Like I’ve loved you when you've felt close to me, and when you’ve felt far away. 

  I love you today uniquely, but no less than those people you compare yourself to. Both the ones you think that you’re better than and the ones you feel inferior to. 

  I love you today from eternity, outside of time, seeing you not just as you are now, but who you will be. Before the beginning of time I chose to love you, with a great and everlasting love, knowing every twist and turn this path would take before any of it happened. 

  I love you today better than you think I do.

  I love you today. Your embarrassment doesn’t get in the way of that. 

  I love you today, even though you sometimes worry I don’t.
  
  I love you today, with a length and breadth and height and depth of love that would wow you if you could see it fully. 

  I want you to see it. 

  I love you.
