Please Fill Me Again
A poem for when I've distracted myself until I'm empty
Discouraged before I begin Well, that’s no way to start Refresh. Redo. Think again. Think anew Jesus. I need you. I’ve been filling my mind With internet ideas The hours of videos Are starting to add up So, when I go to write There’s too much emptiness inside Writing needs a source Like an inner well Of ideas, and reflections Built by actions that don’t consume my attention like food Like doing dishes Raspberry picking And walking slowly too Reading verses Instead of dodging What I know I should do As it is The only thoughts Within sight Are someone else’s When I try To write And that Is not alright Refresh. Redo. Think again. Think anew Jesus I need you Please fill me again.
