Quickly Forgotten
The trouble with writing about life and lessons, is that I need to be reminded of them almost as soon as I hit ‘publish.’
The trouble with writing about life and lessons, is that I need to be reminded of them almost as soon as I hit ‘publish.’ Take my post “Avoiding Discomfort” for example. I watched the video the post is about, and felt the impact of it, quickly getting up and doing at least one thing which I had been avoiding. Less than a month later, I wrote the post itself, and found that I had forgotten to remember most of what the video had said. Okay, I was reminded. "Maybe I'll make better decisions and not avoid discomfort from now on..." I could have thought. Then, more recently, someone I know read that article and had a conversation with me about it. This time I looked back and found it kind of funny. I had mostly forgotten about it again. No wonder the Bible has so many example of people forgetting important things. It’s easy to say, “Wait, but didn’t God just say that to you?” to those people, but harder to keep track of what’s important in the lives we're living. So, from thoughts like this, a poem has sprouted. I call it, as you might guess:
Quickly Forgotten
I stuff my head full of facts, figures, and words A few hours pass, how soon they are gone We are like mist like smoke like grass What’s important we forget too often, too soon Remember, remember My Lord, my King Jesus
Now for a quick note:
For the next couple of weeks I’m going to be trying something a little different. Instead of long-form articles I will mostly be sending out short posts or poetry. I’m not sure if this will continue, or if I will switch back and forth, but this will make it easier in the weeks leading up to a family trip. Thank you guys for reading!

It’s easy to forget—or maybe misplace is better—in a mind with a lot of traffic. Not a congested mind…just one with lots of thoughts and ideas.
Eager to more about this…TODAY!
